Les Fleurs du Skull

Carlo Farneti's illustrations for a 1935 edition of Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal

From the collection of Richard Sica

I can't find much information about Farneti. Art & Popular Culture gives this bio:

Carlo Farneti (1892-1961) was an Italian artist born in Naples who moved to Paris in 1926. He illustrated works by Zola, Poe, and Baudelaire.

Richard Sica tells me Farneti was a prolific illustrator who worked in Paris, and that he did a wonderful series of etchings for a two-volume Poe.
