I wanted to do something special for my 500th post, so I feature here the book I thrust at visitors when they first walk into my apartment. It's a Russian textbook for elementary school children on The Miracle of Life.

I'll leave it at that, because these illustrations sure don't need my help.

This book was published in 1992 and so doesn't fit in my series of Soviet-era kids' books. (More installments in that series are coming soon.) It does, however, fit in with Biology Today.
