Antwerpian Expressionists

A group of Flemish woodcuts from De Moderne Vlaamse Houtsnijkunst (1927), via F.A. Bernett Books (the book has now sold, unfortunately not to me). About the book:

De Moderne Vlaamse Houtsnijkunst by Frank Van den Wyngaert. 131 pp. survey of modern Flemish woodcut artists and their works, including preface by Just Havelaar, biographical material on and lists of works by Frans Masereel, Joris Minne, Henri van Straten, Jan Fr. Cantré, Valentijn van Uytvanck, Jozef Cantré, Gustaaf de Smet, and Fritz van den Berghe, profusely illustrated throughout after reproductions of graphic works and altogether 59 original woodcuts (many full page). Antwerp (De Sikkel) 1927. One of 500 copies. A scarce survey of work by the most important Flemish woodcut artists active in the first quarter of the 20th century, sumptuously illustrated with original graphic works throughout.
