Le Jardin Animé

Here's another find from my trip to Montreal: Le Jardin Animé by French illustrator Louis Peltier (1885–1946), a coloring book published by Librairie Grund in Paris. I'll guess the 1920s or 30s as the publication date. I hope to soon have in my paws Peltier's Les Grandes chasses de Nestor Fenleroc en Afrique (1929), which promises to be delightfully offensive. Stay tuned.

All of the information online about Peltier comes from a French blog devoted to him (though Jardin hasn't yet shown up there).

Long-time visitors will notice my continuing fascination with anthropomorphic fruit and vegetables, from the Faucett series to the Radish Girl Cha-Cha.
