Illustrations for The Hungry Moon: Mexican Nursery Tales (1946) by the Guatemalan artist Carlos Mérida (1891–1984).

Though I could never afford an original by Mérida—whose name comes up often in discussions of Mexican art and murals, as he lived in Mexico for much of his life—I've been amassing a collection of books he illustrated for American publishers over the years. More to come.
